Inpatient Treatment

We can treat you also in a hospital setting if the circumstances of your case warrant this. Examples of such circumstances would be suicidal planning or the possibility where injury may come to others. If you believe your case may fall under these urgent circumstances, please go to your closest hospital emergency department, where a safe transfer can be arranged to CHI for Mental Health at Immanuel Hospital subject to the availability of beds.

Hospital treatment generally includes a diagnostic formulation with rapid initiation of a treatment program in a safe setting. Medication may be prescribed, and can be more quickly adjusted, if necessary. Group and individual therapy may be key elements of hospital treatment. There is also a support group for family members on Wednesday evenings. Typically, treatment in the hospital is from three to seven days in length, but may be longer if warranted.
